Tani Moes Memorial Scholarship Sock Hop

Jan 28, 2012

Sock Hop and Fund Raiser in memory of our dear friend Tani, to help kids learn how to ballroom dance, and train for ballroom dance competitions.......

In Tani Moes memory and honor, a scholarship fund has been created to help kids learn how to ballroom dance and train for ballroom dance competitons. The "Tani Moes Memorial Scholarship Sock Hop" is the first annual fundraiser to help perpetuate the scholarship fund and launch awareness that people can participate($$$$) in helping kids to learn how to dance.

Tani Moes was a student at StaverDanceSport who died unexpectedly and suddenly. She was so full of life. She touched us all with her goodness, her caring and kindness and her laughter – and her giggles. She would giggle during her dance lessons, not a subdued giggle, but a giggle that would echo through the entire studio.

She touched our lives in a way that you just couldn’t be neutral toward her, you liked her right away, and the more you got to know her, the more you liked her. And she liked everybody she met at the studio, considering them new friends and members of her dance family.

She had contagious energy and enthusiasm for learning how to dance, and she shared that perspective generously with every one she came in contact with. Tani's goals were to train for competition in ballroom dancing and to become a Ballroom Dance Instructor. She had such determination, such focus, such vitality. Tani had an innate ability to share her joy and vitality with others from the center of her being and her giggles. On many occasions she stated that she wished she had started her formal dance training as a kid.

Tani knew that in addition to just learning how to dance, ballroom dance lessons provide a great way for people/kids to experience some of the many benefits that they may not otherwise have available to them in other sports/activities (benefits like self esteem, coordination, social graces and confidence, better posture, balance, exercise and fitness, etc.). Ballroom Dance training also is a catalyst for life skills that will last forever.

This is just a little picture of the Tani that we knew and respected, admired and loved.

She will always be remembered by those who knew her for her joy, her laughter, and her passion for dance......

Please join us for the fun and efforts to keep kids dancing by attending our first annual "Tani Moes Memorial Scholarship Sock Hop"......
