Chloe Potter & Brendan Albano have EXTREME Success at the Interntional Grand Ball Competition in San Francisco!
The new lucky number is 13! Out of thirteen entries, Chloe and Brendan bring home thirteen FIRST PLACES!
Saturday, July 29th, Chloe and Brendan stepped onto the competition floor to warm up for their first entry, a showcase theater arts choreography to the Tango from Moulin Rouge, "Roxanne". A dramatic number to say the least, characterized by lifts and drops, carefully executed with precision and grace. This entry was a first time experience for the couple so they opted to be critiqued instead of judged. The results were fantastic! They scored high enough to qualify for and receive a first place score! WOW! All of us were thrilled!
On Sunday, July 30th, the young dancers were entered into Pre-Bronze, Intermediate Bronze, and Full Bronze categories for the American Smooth Junior Division. They danced all four dances, Waltz, Tango, Fox Trot, and Viennese Waltz in all categories, for a total of 12 times on the dance floor. (Just a bit of an endurance trial, that youth makes seem so easy) Not only did they have their own cheering section, but as the couple traveled across the floor the spectators from all around cheered for them. People called out their number, "225", showing great audience approval and support for their exquisite execution of the technique that the judges critical eyes were evaluating. Needless to say WE ARE SO PROUD OF OUR STUDENTS! CONGRATULATIONS CHLOE AND BRENDAN!
